Congratulations to all the participants in the 2016 event!
Welcome to the Chena River to Ridge website.
We invite you to venture north to Fairbanks to participate in one of the newest winter endurance races in interior Alaska. The Chena River to Ridge race will take racers around maintained snow-machine trails in the Chena River Recreation Area about 30 miles east of Fairbanks. Its a challenging race course with big ascents, fast downhills, blind turns, and outstanding views of the local hills and the Alaska Range as the trail climbs high above the valley floor. Racers can either travel by ski, bike, or on foot. There is a 45-mile course and a 25 mile course. After the race, you can relax your muscles in the thermal waters at Chena Hot Springs Resort, about 30 minutes away.
Date: Saturday Feb. 27, 2016
Time: 9 AM for the 45 mile race, 10 AM for the 25 mile race (12 hr cutoff - racers must finish by 9 PM)
Location: Twin Bears Camp, milepost 30 Chena Hot Springs Road, about 40 minutes east of Fairbanks, Alaska.
Online Registration Costs (1/1/2016 - 2/26/2016):
$60 - 45 mile race
$50 - 25 mile race
Race day registration is available at the race start and increases by $20.
The Chena River to Ridge is open to 60 participants. Additional entries will be placed on a wait list in the order they are received.

February 23, 2016:
One important change this year (and this year only) is that our event insurance is carried through Fairbanks Cycle Club (FCC). This means that every racer will need to have a one-day FCC membership before you receive your bib. Chena River to Ridge will cover the cost, you simply need to fill out and sign the form. You can find the form here http://www.fairbankscycleclub.org/Downloads/one-day-member-form.pdf, or there will be some on hand the morning of the event. If you already have an annual membership, then you are good to go.
The one stipulation that comes with this insurance is that all bikers must wear a helmet to participate. If you have a spare, you might want to bring it in case your buddy forgets. Skiers and runners are exempt, but funny hats are always welcome.

February 15, 2016:
The location of the start-finish has been moved 1.5 miles closer to Fairbanks off of Chena Hot Springs road to Twin Bears Camp (CHSR mile 30)!! The new location provides a warm, albeit spartan, building out of the elements to gather before the race and regroup afterward. The race will begin and end directly out of the facility. The course will remain essentially the same, with only a different access point to the Quest trail. Whereas the "25-mile" course distance will remain unchanged, the new start location will add about 3 miles to the "45-mile" distance. We will revise the course map and mileages after we create a new track log this weekend. Parking will be tight, so plan on carpooling if possible.
